Are you due to go on a trek? Or just fancy a walk over the North Downs Way, then Trek Hire Uk`s trek training day is for you!

North Downs - Denbies

Customer Testimonial
Hi everyone, just wanted to thank you all for such a fantastic day on Saturday. The walk, advice and company were all great (V good lunch too!) - I now feel better prepared and excited about our trip to Kilimanjaro. I did feel a bit stiff when I got up from the bar late Saturday night, but not too bad at all since!
Thanks again for a great day - definitely to be recommended!
Will let you know how Jenine and I get on....
Best wishes Sally

Mick Cain, Trek Hire ProprietorMick Cain is one of the partners of Trek Hire UK who has recently returned from a two-week expedition to Tanzania, summating three mountains (Longido, Meru and Kilimanjaro) and he would like to share with you everything he learnt along the way.

It was due mainly to Mick’s preparation, fitness and military training that got him through this particular daunting three peaks challenge and he is happy to pass on the same sort of knowledge and guidance which will enable you to complete your particular trek trouble free.

Most of the day will be spent walking from Puttenham to Dorking (16 miles undulating) following in the footsteps of the Pilgrims as you go. Before and during the walk, Mick will be going through particular items of interest regarding equipment that will be useful on high altitude treks along with techniques and the best ways in which to use them to your advantage. Lets face it, for people going on a trek for the first time, information and good advice is hard to come by.

Topics to be covered:

Layering Up (techniques and maintenance)
Walking Pole (techniques and maintenance)

Hydration
Altitude Issues
Hygiene (feet, hair etc)
Overall preparation (how to pack your duffle bags, what to take in your day sacks etc)
These trekking days are available every Saturday from the 5th January 2008. Reserve your place now.
